Always a First Time....

In my 27 years of life, I have never been admitted in a hospital before. This is the very1st time.

15 Feb 08:
It all started with a gastric pain which I thought was normal. Went to Healthway Medical near the Interchange and was given some gastric medication and issued MC for the day.

19 Feb 08:
Suddenly, my right abdomen was in pain since last night. Went to Healthway Medical at St 71. My doctor said that it could be more than gastrics. He issued me 1 day MC and some medication as well.

20 Feb 08:
The pain didn't go away. My doctor referred me to go for an ultra sound scan which I did. On the fateful day of 20 February 2008 at 4 plus in the afternoon, my mum forced me to go to A&E, CGH. After being wheeled in a wheelchair from 1 point to another... met a Dr Mark and was informed that I have Urinary Tract Infection but BECAUSE the pain in concentrated on the right side only, it may also be Apendicitis. So, they wanted more tests, what's new?

Next thing I knew, I was admitted into Ward 16, Bed 24, a 4-bedded ward. There were 2 other patients; an elderly woman and a middle aged woman. At 10 pm that night, I was wheeled to the X-Ray Centre to have my X-Ray done. Then, wheeled back to my ward. And, I thought the hospital is a great place to rest. I was awakened many times... Blood Pressure check, Temperature check and all... Imagine, the surgeons came in the middle of the night to examine me.... Arrrrghhhh!

21 Feb 08:
I was on a drip since 7 pm last nite. Next test, CT-Scan... Urgh! I hate that one.... Then, the waiting time for the results. It seemed forever.... They made me fast for more than 20 hrs.... I can't take it anymore... And, finally, they came with the results... Said that there were so signs of infection. Instead, they found something else...They found cysts in my ovaries, specifically, in my left ovary... So in the meantime, they could only give me painkillers....

22 Feb 08:
The specialists, surgeons and the doctors came at 7 am, imagine that? I was kind of shocked to wake up in a ward with so many people surrounding my bed... I feel like a specimen... They mentioned about my cyst again... It sounded scary. They were going to refer me to a gynaecologist in KKH as the specialist in CGH is tied up or something. So, they will arrange with KKH if they can transfer me directly there.

Waited, waited and I waited... Goodness! The waiting was like so endless. We had to ask several times when the doctor was coming.

Finally the doctor came.... I will be discharged and appointment was made to see a gynae in KKH on Monday afternoon, 1.50 pm. They issued me medication for a week. Just painkillers and something to suppress my gastrics...

I was discharged only at almost 8 pm.... Finally....
