A Monday... always associated with Monday Blues... You can see the tired faces everywhere...
Today has not been a good day... Things don't seem to go my way... I left the house at 7 am so I can reach office latest by 7.45 am cos I had wanted to do some paper work before I head to the 17th floor to start training.
Upon reaching the bus-stop near the Tampines MRT Station, I saw a SUPER crowded bus stop in the opposite direction... Was wondering if there was a new bus route or something. Saw some buses with the "MRT Shuttle" plate.... Still didn't catch if anything was amiss.
Until, when I reach the entrance of the MRT station, did I realise that there was no train service to Pasir as well from Pasir Ris to Simei. The train service will only start from Tanah Merah MRT. Gosh! Ok ok, my mind was in a frantic rolling... trying very hard to figure out alternatives....
1. Take a bus to Tanah Merah, hop on the train to Raffles Place.
2. Take a direct bus to Raffles Place (which I don't even know what bus to take!)
3. Take the shuttle bus to Tanah Merah, then hop on the train. (But, looking at the crowd at the bus-stop, forget it!)
4. Head down to the taxi stand nearby and hop on to a cab.
I decided to choose option "4". But, when I reach the taxi stand at TM, the queue is unbearable. So, I decided to try my luck at CSQ. The queue was shorter but no taxis seem to come. Finally, I just couldn't take it anymore and tried calling for a cab. Called the SilverCab, was able to speak to a CS Officer but they were unable to find me a cab. Then I called TransCab, finally, they found me a cab within minutes.
The cab arrived and to my shocking astonishment... I glanced at the side of the window (you know the pricing guide they pasted at the side of window?) and was appalled at the cab fares...
Calling charge - $3.50
Morning Surcharge - 35% of cab fare
ERP Charge - $2.50
In total, I paid $26 for the journey from CSQ in Tampines to Battery Road. Gosh! IT is TERRIBLY EXPENSIVE.... And, it is of no fault of mine. Best part is, it is UNCLAIMABLE.... Arghhhh!
Ok, other than that.... the laptop we borrowed for the training just would not accept my password and got locked out. And, we had to resume our training at 12th floor in a cramped area near the DMT Unit. And... I had to stand the whole day... IN my 3 inch heels mind you...
At the end of the day, my feet were aching.... I need the U-Squeeze!!!!!
Okok, gotta sleep soon... another working day tomorrow....
